Philodendron Gloriosum
We are in LOVE with this Philodendron Gloriosum.
With its large, lush, and velvety leaves adorned with stunning white veins (that get up to 2ft long and 1ft wide!), and hot pink new growth points, this tropical plant is nothing short of magnificent.
The Philodendron Gloriosum is a tropical plant, originating from the rainforests of Central and South America.
They grow by crawling along the ground in the wild, and do not really climb trees as much as other philodendron. So, rather than reaching for a moss pole right away, we recommend finding a planter that allows for the plant to spread along the ground.
Plant Care
Light Requirements: These gorgeous plants thrive in indirect or filtered bright light. Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, as it may scorch the leaves and hinder their growth.
Temperature and Humidity: Keeping the temperature between 65°F and 80°F (18°C and 27°C) with high humidity levels ranging between 60% and 70% will create an ideal environment for the Philodendron Gloriosum.
Watering: Allow the soil to dry partially between each watering to prevent overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Make sure to provide adequate drainage to avoid waterlogged conditions.
Soil and Fertilizer: Well-draining, rich, and organic soil will provide the best medium for the plant's growth. A balanced liquid fertilizer once every four to six weeks during the growing season will assist in supporting its health.
Propagation: Philodendron Gloriosum can be propagated through stem cuttings, which can root in water or a well-draining soil mix.
