Philodendron Florida Green
About
The Philodendron Florida Green is plant that I don’t hear about as often as it’s variegated cousin-Philodendron Florida Ghost. While variegated plants get the most hype lately, I find the non variegated versions equally as beautiful: They highlight their shape better and create a much more soothing appearance.
Something about the Florida Green that excited me when I finally was able to see one in person-was how large it’s leaves were. The largest we have seen on this plant so far, was longer than my forearm.
Growth : Vining, will grow great vining up a moss pole, as these philodendron are hemi epiphytic (will vine on ground, as well as up trees)
Light : Thrives in bright, indirect light. Place your plant near a window with filtered sunlight to mimic its natural habitat in the tropical rainforests. Also does well under a grow light.
Humidity: Prefers warm and humid conditions.
Water: Allow the top inch of the soil to dry out before watering again. Misting the aerial roots or using a moist moss pole will help tremendously with this plants growth.
Soil : Use a well-draining potting mix containing a combination of coco coir, perlite, and orchid bark, which mimics the plant's natural environment.
Propagation: Easily Propagated by stem and node cuttings.
