Philodendron Hederaceum 'Brasil'

Philodendron Brasil is a cultivar of Philodendron Hederaceum, which is a member of the Araceae Family. Rather than plain green leaves like the ‘Heartleaf’ philodendron, the Philodendron Brasil has varying stripes of lime and lemon-lime coloring that add a vibrant personality to the plant.

Lighting: Bright Indirect Light, will prefer higher light than the non variegated ‘heartleaf’ philodendron. A South facing window or grow light will work great for this houseplant.

Temperature: Being From South America, this plant requires warm weather, and should not be left outside in the cold. The Philodendron Brasil makes a great houseplant year round.

Water: Water when the top layer of soil is dry

Growth Pattern: Vining

Soil: Tolerates average garden soil, but a mix of soil, coco coir, and perlite is a great substrate for philodendrons

Toxicity: Toxic to Dogs, Cats, Horses, and Humans due to Insoluble Calcium Oxalates

Propagation: Propagated best through cuttings. Leaf cuttings are easily propagated in water. Even just a node of this plant can easily be grown in moist substrate like soil or sphagnum moss.
