Reading Hill House Living, by Paula Sutton
I was first attracted to Paula Sutton's book, Hill House Living, by the stunning watercolor book cover with the image of a woman reading while on her picnic blanket eating an apple.. So, when I found many more uniquely stunning images while flipping through the book at the bookstore, I knew I needed to buy it and find out how Paula's “art of creating a joyful life” could be implemented in my own personal journey.
So far, I have only read the first few sections of the book. However, I have been super inspired by how Paula found new life and joy when she left London's high end fashion scene for more simple living in the country.
Currently, I have just finished the section of the book where she talks about utilizing mood boards to find inspiration for the style of life you want to live. One statement she said really stood out:
“Now, it's all well and good me talking about how I create my mood boards, but talking without action is like planting a seed without watering it.”
I don't typically like to talk about it much, but I have a day job that I need to go to in order to pay my bills…and I spend all day everyday daydreaming about how I want my life to be different.
Maybe, I should start watering those daydream seeds more, so that they can finally start growing.
