Why I am Ditching Social Media

Ready for a FRESH Start? Me too! That is why I am OFFICIALLY Ditching Meta!

Do you ever feel like you just wasted a ton of time scrolling through Facebook or Instagram only to feel worse off than when you started?

That is how I felt. Something that originally was able to bring us all closer, started to be filled with hate, junk, ads, pointless videos, and click bait.

Why I am ditching Meta Platforms and other Toxic Social Media:

I don’t want to live in a world where people feel obligated to be on increasingly toxic platforms just to connect with me.…and therefore, I QUIT!

Algorithms used on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest lead us into a wormhole of whatever they choose for us to see. Research has often revealed that controversial, upsetting, and often completely pointless posts get the highest response rates, and therefore pushes them to the top of our feeds. Therefore, leaving us with the WORST posts instead of the BEST posts.

Algorithms also make it so only a small percentage of our followers get to see our posts…and when they do see them, it is only for a brief second and then forgotten about with the next post.

WAY TOO MANY ADS!! I AM SO SICK OF ADS!!!

TOO MUCH CLICK BAIT THAT SENDS US TO MORE AD FILLED WEBSITES…I know ads are so beneficial for many businesses and entrepreneurs, but honestly, they should be paying us to see them at this point.

Looking Forward:

My hope is that by not spreading myself thin across multiple platforms, all of my content and artwork can easily be found. That's right, you will not have to worry about missing anything just because you didn’t log onto Instagram. All updates will be in my emails when you sign up for my email list.

This website will become a more and more beautiful sanctuary from the noise of the internet. I will NEVER put ads up on my website, so you can rest assured a peaceful time to enjoy my art.

I will be finding other ways to be inspired that are much more beneficial to my artwork. I’ll be reading books, visiting parks, spending time with my dogs, researching masters of art, baking, gardening, and much more.

How will I keep in touch in with You in the Future?

My email list will now be the exclusive way to follow along with me and my art journey. I will share EVERYTHING you want to know: what’s new, latest artworks available, what is inspiring me, works in progress, new blog posts, upcoming events, and much much more!
